Ghatkaiti primarily serves the Mithili community and is available in India, USA, Dubai, Nepal, and expanding to more regions.
Important: If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our application. Your continued use of the app after any modifications to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account and using Ghatkaiti, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, as well as our Privacy Policy. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Winklogiq Technologies Private Limited.
If you are creating a profile on behalf of someone else (e.g., parent creating for child, sibling, relative), you represent that you have their explicit consent and authority to do so.
2. Eligibility
2.1 Age Requirements
To use our services, you must:
Be at least 18 years of age (or the legal age of marriage in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher)
Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract
Not be prohibited by law from using our services
Provide accurate and truthful information about yourself
Be genuinely seeking marriage or a committed relationship
2.2 Age Verification
By using our services, you represent and warrant that you meet the age requirements stated above.
We reserve the right to:
Request age verification documents at any time
Terminate accounts of users under 18 years of age
Report underage users to appropriate authorities if necessary
2.3 Profile Creation on Behalf of Others
If you are creating a profile on behalf of someone else (e.g., parent creating for son/daughter, sibling, relative), you must:
Have explicit consent from the person whose profile is being created
Ensure the person meets age requirements (18+ years)
Clearly indicate in the profile who created it (Self, Parent, Sibling, Relative)
Provide accurate information about the person
Not misrepresent your relationship to the person
3. Account Registration
3.1 Account Creation
You agree to:
Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
Maintain and promptly update your account information
Keep your password secure and confidential
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
Be responsible for all activities that occur under your account
Create only ONE account per person
3.2 Authentication Methods
You can create an account using:
Email/Phone: Traditional email or phone number registration with OTP verification
Google Sign-In: Quick registration using your Google account
When using Google Sign-In, you agree to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We receive limited information from Google (name, email, profile picture) solely for authentication purposes.
3.3 Profile Information
You represent and warrant that all information provided in your profile is accurate, truthful, and does not violate any third-party rights. This includes:
Personal details (name, age, height, marital status)
Educational and professional information
Family details
Photos and biodata documents
Partner preferences
4. Permissions and Data Collection
4.1 Location Permission
Our app requests access to your device location to:
Show you profiles of potential matches in your vicinity
Provide location-based search and filtering options
Improve match recommendations based on proximity
Display distance between you and potential matches
You can control location permissions through your device settings. Denying location access may limit certain features of the app but won't affect core functionality.
Background Location: We do NOT track your location when the app is closed unless you explicitly enable background location services.
4.2 Camera and Photo Access
Our app requests camera access solely for:
Taking and uploading profile photos directly within the app
Updating your profile pictures
We do not access your camera for any other purpose. You can deny camera permission and upload photos from your gallery instead.
Photo Library: We request photo library access only when you choose to upload photos from your gallery. We do NOT automatically access or scan your photo library.
4.3 Push Notification Permission
Our app requests permission to send push notifications for:
New match notifications
Messages from other users
Profile view alerts
Connection request updates (acceptance/rejection)
Important account and security updates
Subscription and membership updates
You can control notification preferences through:
Device settings (enable/disable all notifications)
Disabling notifications will not affect other app functionality, but you may miss important updates.
4.4 File Storage Permission
We request file storage access to:
Allow you to upload biodata documents (PDF format)
Save downloaded files (biodata, photos) to your device
We only access files you explicitly select for upload.
5. User Conduct
5.1 Acceptable Use
You agree to use our services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:
Impersonate any person or entity
Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent information
Harass, abuse, or harm other users
Upload inappropriate, offensive, or explicit content
Use the service for commercial purposes without authorization
Scrape, copy, or collect user data
Interfere with or disrupt the service
Create multiple accounts
Share your account credentials with others
Circumvent any security features or usage limits
5.2 Photo Guidelines
All photos uploaded must:
Be clear and recent photos of yourself (or the person whose profile it is)
Show the face clearly
Be appropriate and decent
Not contain nudity, violence, or offensive content
Not violate any copyright or third-party rights
Not include children (unless they are your own and relevant to family photos)
Not be heavily filtered or edited to misrepresent appearance
Be in acceptable formats (JPEG, PNG)
Minimum Requirement: At least 3 approved photos are required to maintain an active profile.
5.3 Messaging and Communication
When using our chat feature, you agree to:
Communicate respectfully and courteously
Not share personal contact information (phone, email, social media) until you're comfortable
Not send spam, promotional content, or unsolicited messages
Not use offensive, abusive, or threatening language
Not send explicit or inappropriate content
Not solicit money or financial information
Respect daily messaging limits based on your membership plan
Message Monitoring: While we respect your privacy, we reserve the right to review reported messages to ensure compliance with these Terms and to protect user safety.
Message Retention: Chat history is stored on our servers and accessible across devices. You can delete individual messages or entire conversations, which will permanently remove them from our servers.
5.4 Biodata Upload
You may upload a biodata document (PDF format) to your profile. You agree that:
The biodata contains accurate and truthful information
You have the right to upload and share the document
The biodata does not contain offensive or inappropriate content
You will not upload copyrighted material without permission
The biodata is for personal matrimonial purposes only
The file size is within acceptable limits (typically 5MB)
Visibility: Your biodata is visible only to users you've matched with or accepted requests from.
Storage: Biodata files are stored securely on cloud servers (AWS S3). You can view, download, or delete your biodata anytime through profile settings.
Approval: Uploaded biodatas may be reviewed by our moderation team to ensure compliance with our guidelines.
5.5 Strictly Prohibited Activities
⚠️ WARNING: The following activities are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination:
Creating fake or fraudulent profiles
Impersonating another person
Soliciting money or financial information from users
Running scams or fraudulent schemes
Promoting commercial services or businesses
Sharing explicit or adult content
Stalking, threatening, or harassing users
Using automated tools, bots, or scripts
Scraping or collecting user data for any purpose
Circumventing usage limits or membership restrictions
Reverse engineering or attempting to hack the app
Sharing or selling account access
Engaging in any illegal activities
Legal Action: We reserve the right to report illegal activities to law enforcement and cooperate fully with investigations. We may also pursue civil action for damages.
6. Profile Moderation and Safety
6.1 Admin Approval Process
All profiles and photos are subject to admin approval before becoming visible to other users. We reserve the right to:
Review and approve or reject any profile information
Request clarification or additional information
Request verification documents (ID proof, etc.)
Remove or hide profiles that violate our guidelines
Suspend or terminate accounts for policy violations
Approval Timeline: We aim to review profiles within 24 hours of submission. You'll be notified of approval status via in-app notification and email.
Photo Requirements: A minimum of 3 approved photos is required to maintain an active, visible profile.
6.2 Profile Status
Your profile may have one of the following statuses:
PENDING: Under review by our moderation team (typically within 24 hours)
APPROVED: Visible to other users and fully active
REJECTED: Does not meet community guidelines (you'll receive specific feedback and can resubmit)
SUSPENDED: Temporarily disabled due to policy violations or user reports (you can appeal)
BANNED: Permanently terminated for severe violations
You can view your current profile status in the app settings.
6.3 User Reporting and Flagging
Users can report profiles for:
Fake profile or impersonation
Inappropriate content or photos
Harassment or abusive behavior
Spam or scam attempts
Soliciting money or financial fraud
Underage user
Other violations of these Terms
How to Report: Use the "Report" button on any profile or message to flag inappropriate content or behavior.
6.4 Investigation Process
When a profile is flagged:
Our moderation team reviews the report and profile within 24-48 hours
You may be notified and given an opportunity to respond
We may request additional verification or documentation
Your profile may be temporarily hidden during investigation
Appropriate action is taken based on our findings
You'll receive notification of the outcome
False Reports: Users who repeatedly make false or malicious reports may face account suspension.
6.5 Consequences of Violations
Depending on the severity of the violation, we may:
First Offense (Minor): Issue a warning with specific feedback
Second Offense: Temporarily suspend your profile (7-30 days)
Severe Violations: Permanently terminate your account without refund
Illegal Activity: Report to law enforcement and ban from platform
Repeated violations will result in permanent account termination without refund. Banned users cannot create new accounts.
6.6 Appeals Process
If your profile is rejected or suspended, you can appeal by:
Contacting support with your appeal and evidence
Providing requested verification documents
Explaining the situation and corrective actions taken
Appeals are reviewed within 3-5 business days. Our decision on appeals is final.
7. Matching, Requests, and Interactions
7.1 Profile Discovery
Our app uses algorithms to recommend profiles based on:
Your stated partner preferences (age, height, education, location, etc.)
Profile completeness and quality
Location proximity (if location services are enabled)
Activity level and responsiveness
Community and cultural compatibility
Recent activity and profile freshness
You can adjust your preferences anytime to influence match recommendations.
7.2 Shortlisting
You can shortlist profiles you're interested in. Shortlisted profiles:
Are saved for easy access later in your "Shortlisted" section
Are NOT notified that you've shortlisted them (private action)
Can be removed from your shortlist anytime
May be subject to daily limits based on your membership plan
7.3 Connection Requests
To communicate with another user, you must send a connection request. You acknowledge that:
Requests are subject to daily limits based on your membership plan
The other user may accept, reject, or ignore your request
You can cancel sent requests before they're accepted
Rejected requests cannot be resent to the same user for 30 days
Pending requests expire after 30 days if not responded to
You can view sent, received, and pending requests in the Requests tab
Request Etiquette: Send personalized requests and respect rejection. Repeated unwanted requests may be considered harassment.
7.4 Matches
When a connection request is accepted, you become "matched" and can:
Send and receive unlimited messages (subject to plan limits)
View each other's full profiles and biodata (if uploaded)
Exchange contact information at your discretion
See when the other person was last active
Unmatch at any time (this will end the conversation)
Match Expiry: Matches remain active as long as both accounts are active. Inactive accounts may be hidden from match lists.
7.5 No Guarantees
Important Disclaimer: Ghatkaiti is a platform to facilitate connections. We do not guarantee:
That you will find a suitable match
The accuracy, truthfulness, or completeness of user-provided information
The intentions, character, or background of other users
That matches will lead to marriage or long-term relationships
The availability or responsiveness of other users
Your Responsibility: You are solely responsible for your interactions, decisions, and any relationships that develop through the platform.
7.6 Safety Recommendations
For your safety, we strongly recommend:
Verify Information: Independently verify information before meeting in person
Meet in Public: Always meet in public places for initial meetings
Inform Others: Tell family or friends about your meetings (time, place, person)
Trust Your Instincts: If something feels wrong, end the interaction
No Financial Transactions: Never share financial information or send money
Report Suspicious Behavior: Report any suspicious or inappropriate behavior immediately
Video Call First: Consider video calling before meeting in person
Background Checks: We do not conduct background checks; consider doing your own

8.2 Feature Limits and Usage
Each plan has specific daily usage limits for:
Profile views (number of profiles you can view per day)
Connection requests sent (number of requests you can send per day)
Messages sent (number of messages you can send per day)
Profile boosts (frequency of visibility enhancements)
Reset Schedule: Usage limits reset daily at midnight (IST - Indian Standard Time).
No Carryover: Unused limits do not carry over to the next day.
Limit Tracking: You can view your current usage and remaining limits in the app settings.
Payment: Charged at the start of each billing cycle
Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date
Price Changes: We reserve the right to change subscription prices with 30 days' advance notice
Currency: Prices are displayed in your local currency or USD
Taxes: Prices may be subject to applicable taxes based on your location
Savings: Longer billing cycles offer discounted rates (e.g., annual plans save up to 40% compared to monthly).
8.4 Subscription Management
You may manage your subscription through:

Upgrading to a higher plan (immediate effect, prorated billing)
Downgrading to a lower plan (takes effect at next billing cycle)

8.5 Cancellation Policy
You may cancel your subscription at any time through:

8.6 Upgrades and Downgrades
Upgrading:
Takes effect immediately
You're charged the prorated difference for the remaining billing period
New limits and features are available instantly
Downgrading:
Takes effect at the end of your current billing period
You continue to enjoy current plan benefits until expiry
No refund for the difference in plan prices
8.7 Payment Processing
Payments are processed through secure third-party payment gateways (e.g., Razorpay, Stripe, Google Play, Apple Pay). We do not store your complete payment card details.
By subscribing, you authorize us to:
Charge your payment method for the selected plan
Automatically charge for renewals (if auto-renewal is enabled)
Update payment information if provided by your payment provider
Failed Payments: If a payment fails, we'll attempt to charge again. After multiple failed attempts, your subscription may be cancelled and access downgraded to FREE plan.
8.8 Free Trials and Promotions
We may offer free trials or promotional discounts from time to time:
Free trial terms will be clearly stated at sign-up
You may be required to provide payment information for free trials
You'll be charged at the end of the trial unless you cancel
Promotional discounts apply only to the first billing cycle unless stated otherwise
One free trial per user (cannot be combined with other offers)
8.9 Plan Features and Changes

We reserve the right to:
Modify Plan Features: Add, remove, or modify features of any membership plan at any time
Change Pricing: Adjust subscription prices with 30 days' advance notice to existing subscribers
Discontinue Plans: Retire or replace membership plans (existing subscribers retain their plan until renewal)
Adjust Limits: Modify daily/monthly usage limits for any plan tier
Introduce New Plans: Launch new membership tiers with different features
Grandfathering: Existing subscribers may be grandfathered into old plans with legacy features, but this is not guaranteed
Notification: You will be notified of significant plan changes via email and in-app notification at least 30 days before changes take effect.
Your Options: If you disagree with plan changes:
Cancel your subscription before the renewal date
Switch to a different plan that better suits your needs
Continue using the FREE plan
8.10 Contact Details Unlocking
Contact unlocking allows premium members to view phone numbers and email addresses of other users, subject to the following terms:
8.10.1 Current Plan Access (Effective December 12, 2025)
FREE Plan: No contact unlocking access
BASIC Plan (New Subscribers): No contact unlocking access for users who subscribe on or after December 12, 2025
BASIC Plan (Grandfathered Users): Users who subscribed to BASIC plan before December 12, 2025 retain access to 20 contact unlocks per month as a legacy benefit
PREMIUM Plan: 20 contact unlocks per month
8.10.2 Usage Terms
Monthly Limits: Contact unlocks reset on the 1st of each month (IST timezone)
Non-Refundable: Once you unlock a contact, the unlock is consumed and cannot be refunded, even if the information is incorrect or unavailable
Availability: Contact details are only available if the other user has provided them in their profile
Mutual Consent: By providing your contact details in your profile, you consent to premium members unlocking them
One-Time Unlock: Each user's contact can only be unlocked once. Subsequent views do not consume additional unlocks
Responsible Use: You agree not to misuse unlocked contact information for spam, harassment, or commercial purposes
8.10.3 Feature Changes and Grandfathering
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Contact unlocking features may be modified, restricted to higher tiers, or removed from plans at any time.
Grandfathered Benefits: Users who subscribed before December 12, 2025 to BASIC plan retain 20 contact unlocks per month as a legacy benefit
No Guarantee: Grandfathered benefits are not guaranteed beyond the current subscription period. Upon renewal, new plan terms may apply
Plan Changes: We reserve the right to modify unlock limits, move this feature to different tiers, or discontinue it entirely
Notification: You will be notified at least 30 days before any changes to your grandfathered benefits
8.10.4 Privacy and Misuse
Privacy Note: Once contact details are unlocked, you are responsible for how you use that information. The other user will be notified that you unlocked their contact details.
Prohibited Actions:
Sharing unlocked contact information with third parties
Using contact information for spam, marketing, or commercial purposes
Harassing or threatening users through unlocked contact information
Selling or distributing contact information
Consequences: Misuse of contact unlocking feature will result in immediate account termination without refund.
8.11 Coupon Codes and Discounts
We may offer coupon codes and promotional discounts:
Validity: Coupons have expiration dates and usage limits
Restrictions: Coupons may be restricted to specific plans or durations
One-Time Use: Most coupons can be used only once per user
No Cash Value: Coupons have no cash value and cannot be transferred
Cancellation: We reserve the right to cancel or modify coupon codes at any time
Fraud Prevention: Misuse of coupons may result in account suspension
8.12 Payment Recovery and Failed Transactions
In case of payment issues:
Expired Payments: Pending payments expire after 30 minutes if not completed
Payment Recovery: If money was deducted but membership not activated, you can request payment recovery through the app or by contacting support
Failed Payments: If a payment fails, we may retry the charge. After multiple failures, your subscription may be cancelled
Duplicate Charges: Report duplicate charges within 7 days for investigation and refund
Gateway Issues: Payment gateway issues are handled by the respective payment processor (PhonePe, Razorpay, etc.)
Recovery Process: Use the "Recover Payment" feature in app settings or contact support with your transaction ID.
Important: We do NOT access your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, or other Google services. Google Sign-In is used solely for authentication purposes.
9.2 Cloud Services
We use third-party cloud services to provide our services:

9A. Automated Notifications and Reminders
9A.1 Email Communications
By creating an account, you consent to receive emails from us including:

Administrative: Policy updates, security alerts, important announcements
Frequency: We may send automated reminder emails at intervals (e.g., 30 minutes, 1 day, 3 days, 7 days after certain actions).
Opt-Out: You can unsubscribe from promotional emails using the unsubscribe link in any email. Transactional and service emails cannot be disabled as they are essential for service operation.

Control: You can customize notification preferences in app settings or disable them entirely through device settings.

You'll receive in-app notifications for important events and updates. These are visible when you open the app and cannot be disabled as they are essential for service functionality.
10. Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, protect, and share your personal information.

11. Intellectual Property
11.1 Our Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the app, including but not limited to:
Text, graphics, logos, icons, images
Software, code, and algorithms
Design, layout, and user interface
Trademarks, service marks, and trade names
"Ghatkaiti" name and logo
are owned by Winklogiq Technologies Private Limited and protected by copyright, trademark, patent, and other intellectual property laws.
Restrictions: You may not:
Copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission
Reverse engineer or decompile the app
Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices
Use our trademarks or branding without written consent
11.2 Your Content
You retain ownership of the content you upload (photos, biodata, profile information, messages). However, by uploading content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:
Use, display, and distribute your content as necessary to provide our services
Store your content on our servers and cloud services
Show your content to other users based on your privacy settings
Use anonymized, aggregated data for analytics and improvements
This license ends when you delete your content or terminate your account, except for content that has been shared with other users or is required for legal compliance.

12. Account Termination
12.1 Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time by:

Your personal data is deleted from our active databases within 30 days
Some data may be retained for legal or security purposes (3-7 years)

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice or refund, if:
